Cisco Systems Grants 10 CCNA Certification Scholarships to Computer Science Department Students at the University of Crete
The Computer Science Department of the University of Crete announces with pleasure that Cisco Systems is sponsoring 10 scholarships for students of the Computer Science Department of the University of Crete to obtain the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification. The CCNA certification is a popular certification provided by Cisco Systems, aiming to recognize the knowledge and skills of IT professionals in the field of networks. The "University of Crete CCNA Scholarships" program covers the cost of the exam and provides access to the Cisco U. eLearning platform for CCNA certification preparation.
It should be noted that Cisco Systems, a prominent global provider of IT and networking solutions, has recently established a presence at the Science and Technology Park of Crete (STEPC) and has already hired graduates from the University of Crete's Computer Science Department.
The General Assembly of the Department decided to allocate six scholarships to undergraduate students and four to graduate students, based on their performance in related courses. The committee overseeing the process includes Professors Xenofontas Dimitropoulos, Maria Papadopouli, and Polyvios Pratikakis.
The CCNA certification program includes the following key elements:
- Networking Basics: Understanding fundamental networking principles such as network structures and protocols.
- Installation and Configuration: Installing, configuring, and operating network devices (routers, switches).
- Routing and Switching: Managing and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks using routers and switches.
- Network Security: Implementing basic security practices to protect networks from threats.
