The Department of Computer Science of the University of Crete will celebrate 40 years of operation in academic year 2024-25.

During the academic year 2024-25, various activities will take place to highlight the history and the rich contribution of the Department so far, to science and society, and to show the way forward.

This page will be a central reference page for these actions and will be updated regularly.

 Friday 27 Sep. 2024:

Alumni reunion with emphasis on 1984, 1993, 1994 induction years. The sessions/discussions will take place in the Department's "Stelios Orphanoudakis" auditorium, between 10:00-16:00.
Friday 23 May 2025:

An official event "40 Years of CSD, 40 Years of IT in Greece" is planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of CSD on Friday 23 May 2025 at the "Nikos Petridis" Amphitheatre of the University of Crete at the Vouton Campus, Heraklion, Crete.

We invite all alumni, students, staff, collaborators and friends of the Department to this event which aims to highlight the history and the rich contribution of the Department to science and society, and to show the way forward.
