establishing contacts between the academics and industry. The school will provide the chance to students and professionals to meet world leaders in speech technology, exchanging ideas,
sharing experiences and vision.
The school strongly supports the hands-on sessions to provide to the participants a good balance between theory and practice.
Morning sessions will include lectures on theory while all afternoon sessions will be dedicated solely to the hands-on sessions.

- 24-6-2021: Situation in Greek universities is still very restrictive when it comes to conferences, seminars, and workshops. Thus, the SPCC21 Organizing Commitee has decided that SPCC21 will go fully virtual this year for all participants. Lecturers and UOC staff might be able to have access to the campus and the facilities. Participants will have access to Slack channels for receiving material, discussing, and asking questions. All lectures will be delivered via Zoom and will be distributed to participants a few days after.
- 7-5-2021: Although the situation in Crete is currently relatively good, strict Government regulations imposed at Greek universities do not allow us to take a decision about whether SPCC will be held virtually or in person. We hope the situation will improve as we approach summer. Taking into account the current (slow) progress with vaccination and travel bans some big companies and universities have issued, we have therefore decided to opt for a hybrid SPCC21 with a back-up option of fully virtual one. A final decision will be made in mid June.
