In
1998, the Computer Science Department of the University
of Crete ,
introduced two new courses in its curriculum. The first entitled “Technology,
Knowledge and Values” is offered in
the Fall Semester, while the second, entitled “Introduction to the Philosophy of
Science”
is offered in the Spring Semester. A group of students
who attended these courses, decided to create a website in order to cover the
lack of a guide in the field of historical, philosophical and social matters
concerning Science and Technology. As of now the site provides information regarding research in these theoretical issues and contains projects carried out by students attending the two courses.
