Dr Kafentzis is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Computer Science Department, University of Crete, where he teaches Physics for Engineers (CS-112), Digital Signal Processing (CS-370), and Signals and Systems (CS-215). He is also a member of the Speech Signal Processing Lab, which is part of the Multimedia Informatics Labs of the department.
His research interests lie in the fields of signal processing: speech, audio, and biosignal processing, signal modelling, emotion recognition from speech, and deep learning applications on audio.
