Course Description

HY-330 is a 6-ECTS undergrad course. It is aimed at familiarizing the students with basic telecommunication theory, acting as a primer to more advanced telecommunication courses. The lectures cover telecommunications essentials, basic digital signal processing, modulation/demodulation techniques and basic coding theory, while the laboratory assignments with the use of software defined radios (SDRs) have the following purposes:
 demonstrate some of the basic principles followed and components needed in a modern digital telecommunication system
 provide hands-on experience with state-of-the art SDR equipment
 train the students at building SDR based transceivers

Grading
The final grade is calculated as follows:
30% Assignments
40% Project
30% Final Exam
